The attacked bases included the Israeli army bases of Mayrun, Zatun, and Sahel, as well as two bases in the occupied Golan Heights, three barracks, and several strongholds. According to information from the Lebanese movement, over 320 Katyusha rockets were fired at Israeli targets.

Earlier, the official representative of the IDF, Daniel Hagari, reported in the army's Telegram channel that the Lebanese movement was preparing a large-scale attack on Israel, so in response, they were shelling the movement's positions. According to the Times of Israel, Israel carried out preemptive strikes on Hezbollah rocket deployment sites 15 minutes before they were launched towards Tel Aviv.

In anticipation of an expected attack from Lebanon, as reported by the Times of Israel citing Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant, a state of emergency was declared in the country for 48 hours.

US President Joe Biden is monitoring the situation in the Middle East, according to the New York Times citing National Security Council representative Sean Savet. He has already instructed American officials to stay in touch with Israel.

The situation in the Middle East escalated after the assassination of senior Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukra in Beirut at the end of July and the head of Hamas' political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran.

Iran and Hezbollah leadership have promised to deliver a powerful retaliatory strike against Israel. The Israeli military command, in turn, stated that they are prepared for any developments, both defensively and offensively.
